I have been commissioned to produce a little footstool in gold and red. The lady in question saw one I had already done in green and purple and wanted something similar for her sitting room. Fortunately, I have some gorgeous silk which is a pale old gold with beautiful paeonies in crimson and pink. The lady who commissioned the footstool like this so am beginning work. The footstool that I have is lovely, on the bottom is a little label which says that it is a 'Miss Muffet' stool, how cute is that? I will keep you up to date with progress.
Not quite got the hang of this yet, the posts are out of order, clearly the one in the middle is the latest one! Whoops.
Hoping that things are going to go smoothly now. Had a bit of a panic with the website when I thought someone had nicked it but it turned out to be a sort of 'holding' page waiting for me to get about and get on with it! Hurrah!
Anyway, having established that, I am now waiting for my domain to be directed and then I can publish. Really looking forward to the challenge of keeping this up to date and painting and selling. A bit like spinning plates and juggling at the same time, I feel!
A friend is having some of the furniture in her new shop so I'm popping in there today to see how it's going. I also have to sort out some business cards, I have the designs done but haven't committed to a supplier yet.
Will publish a pic on here when I have sorted it out.
Well, this is exciting, I have finally managed to publish the website and am feeling rather pleased with myself. Just need to work on getting it noticed by people who might like to buy the furniture now!
Well, here we are, having a stressful time trying to set up a website. I feel completely out of my depth and am relying heavily on a very competent friend on the end of the telephone. Hope it all works.
At the moment I have a room full of bits and pieces bought on ebay and at local boot fairs, a 'workshop' outside which is currently full of typical shed type stuff and another outbuilding which is currently housing garden furniture and toys into which I hope to transfer the contents of the workshop. Weekends are never dull here!
I have an idea to use Sevres porcelain as the inspiration for a piece of furniture, I just think the colours are exquisite and I can just see tea and cupcakes being served on a table like this.
